Candy SimonsonSecretary of Springfield Writers Guild, has served the Guild as past Newsletter editor, Vice President, Treasurer and Director-at-Large. Candy writes Christian fiction/family drama and mystery. Her award-winning short stories and essays have been published in seven anthologies, and almost 400 articles have appeared in national print and online magazines and blogs. Her Young Adult family drama trilogy: Love’s Journey Home (2013 and as an audiobook in June 2018) Love  Looks Back  (2015-to be produced in audio soon), and Love’s Amazing Grace (2015), and anthology of 26-sentence flash fiction stories, A Quick Read, can be found on Amazon.com. In 2017, she published Thoughts for Evening Time: Devotions to Ponder and co-authored a children’s story coloring book with original art, All Beautiful Creatures. She enjoys helping other budding authors with book formatting and cover design.

Now retired from a career in technology training, she lives in Strafford, Missouri, with her husband, Tim. When Candy is not writing or plotting another story, she enjoys crafting, playing piano, spray-paint art, and fishing in their backyard pond.

Candy will be speaking on “PLOTTING A STORY – What style works best?”  We will explore together how some great authors have plotted their stories, and how various forms work in this interactive session.

About Springfield Writers' Guild

Springfield Writers' Guild was formed in 1943 to encourage new writers and hone the skills of the writing craft. The group meets every fourth Saturday of the month (except for December) at McAlister's Deli, 1711 W. Battlefield in Springfield, Missouri. Visitors are welcome.
