May 2018 Speaker

Matthew Henderson

Matthew Henderson will give the guild a peak into the “Life of a Journalist” at the May meeting. He has a degree in journalism from Missouri State University and has published hundreds of articles in four local newspapers.
This presentation would appeal to anyone who is interested in writing content for print or online media publications. Matthew will also give insight into the motivations and struggles of journalists, so fiction writers can create realistic characters who work as reporters. Learn why the difference between a journalist and a private detective is slim to none.
Matthew is the guild’s 2018 treasurer. He is also a self-employed marketing professional, providing web design, branding, video production and public relations. He writes upmarket fiction novels, set in modern America and featuring unique characters engaging in emotionally charged dialog. He is currently querying agents and pursuing publication.
