General Guidelines

  • Contest is open to all writers.  Each contest is judged blind.
  • Each entry must be the unpublished, original work of the contestant.
  • Submit your entry below via the Submit page or by emailing springfieldwritersguild.contest@gmail.com.
  • Entries from non-members will not be considered submitted until payment is received.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable.
  • Submissions must be G or PG-rated
  • Any submission that violates contest guidelines will automatically be disqualified.

How to Enter

  1. Contest period is 12:01 a.m. September 1 to midnight October 31.
  2. Payment will be made by PayPal only or credit/debit card only.
  3. Awards will be presented at the November Springfield Writer’s Guild meeting or by mail for those unable to attend. For a list of winning entries and judges visit http://www.springfieldwritersguild.org/contests in November.

About Springfield Writers' Guild

Springfield Writers' Guild was formed in 1943 to encourage new writers and hone the skills of the writing craft. The group meets every fourth Saturday of the month (except for December) at McAlister's Deli, 1711 W. Battlefield in Springfield, Missouri. Visitors are welcome.
